In a People interview, Isabella reflected on how her cancer journey reshaped her sense of beauty and identity. During treatment, she lost her hair, a feature she once considered central to her look. “It was strawberry red, auburn, and everyone commented on it,” she said. “When it fell out, I thought, ‘I’m never going to be pretty again.’”
As her hair grew back, it changed texture and color. First pin-straight and black, it gradually became curlier and lighter — a common post-chemotherapy phenomenon called “chemo curls.” Today, Isabella wears a short, curly afro and embraces this new phase, learning to care for her hair with nourishing products
Celebrating the End of Treatment
Isabella openly documented her final chemotherapy session. In a June 2024 vlog, she rested in her hospital bed, pale but hopeful, wearing striped pajamas. Family and friends celebrated with confetti, music, and handmade signs. Surrounded by loved ones, she rang the bell — a symbolic end to her treatment.
